And Day 1 of AFA09 Mission Accomplished!!
The doors opened at 10am in the morning and the queue to the hall was very very long…
And while I was waiting at the entrance, I actually met Danny Choo. Apparently I didn’t recognise him till I saw his storm trooper outfit.
Events for the day!
“Summer Wars” preview and an interview with the director, Mamoru Hosoda. The movie will be release in Singapore in February. If you caught his previous works like, “The Girl who Leap Through Time,” you should catch this movie when it is in the cinemas next year.
And I actually sat through almost the entire events…
Next up was Atsuki GL Fashion Show. In short Dolls. I like those dresses that the dolls wore but I still find them a little creepy. I guess it must been all those horror movies I used to watch when I was a little kid.
Regional Cosplay Championship. 00 Emotions took both the special prize and the grand prize. The Gundam, “Raiser” was totally awesome… Though I actually like the Witchblade cosplay better… Their weapons were very cool and looked very good because of the light bulbs they added on them… And there was a Lineage II cosplay as well… Weapons and armour were very detailed.
Danny Choo was up next… He talked about the history of his dannychoo.com and other stuff… I’m not a frequent reader of his blog so I was actually surprised of some bits of infomation about him. And I like his Storm Trooper Dance in Singapore. Haha…
And to wrap things up, “I Love Anisong” concert! Paying $97 per ticket was totally worth it. Shoko-tan, Hatsune Miku and Ichirou Mizuki came down for Day 1 concert. Well, to be honest, I couldn’t really recognise quite a few of “Aneki’s” songs… But I enjoyed it nevertheless.
Shoko-tan… Awsum… Hatsune Miku… It was quite the laugh as she appeared on the stage screen. Project Diva.
And the concert ended with an encore of Aneki and Shoko-tan singing together… Absolutely a sight…
